LOC fun

Greetings to my cyber visitors - I trust you have a wonderful Easter and that the weather was warm and sunny for you, no matter where you were.  We were both warm and sunny, but are now looking forward to some much needed rain.

I had a couple of hours in the studio today and gave both my cuttlebug and my Layers of Color stamps a good workout.

This card was started with a brick coloured piece of paper put through the Cuttlebug in the Fantastic Flowers folder, and then I ran a silver pen around some of the elements.

The sentiment was stamped with Brilliance Thyme ink and clear embossed, cut with a Nestabilities label and threaded on green gingham ribbon.

The butterflies, from the LOC Flutterby set, were stamped and embossed in gold, and the background chalked to add a wee bit of colour before they were cut out and mounted with glue from a hot glue gun - one of the few times I like using hot glue - much easier than trying to cut dimensional foam tape into small pieces!! This was then mounted onto a white base to finish the card.

This next card used a stamp
from the LOC Fruitful Harvest set for the central image. I stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black before cutting it out with the large oval Classic nestability.  I sponged around the edge of the image with Memento Olive ink before colouring it with chalks.

This was mounted on a scalloped oval in the base card green, then mounted on a white card that I had run through the cuttlebug Textile Textures  folder, then sprayed with Glimmers silver and then a quick mist of yellow, which gave a lovely sheen to the card with an almost oyster colour, surprisingly!

The bow was tied and slipped onto the ribbon, and this was then adhered behind both corners of the white card, before mounting the whole onto the green base.

I was pleased with my afternoons work, and I hope you have enjoyed viewing it.

Thanks a lot for calling, and your comments are always appreciated.

Maxine, these are both fantastic, but you know I'm partial to the one with the gold butterflies. I really like how you have the one butterfly flying downwards. I never think to do that. All mine fly right side up. How boring, mine not yours. :) I love the cuttlebugged background.
