Stitched Sympathy

Welcome again - I have had to make another sympathy card today, and I
went for extreme simplicity.

Just texture and a sentiment.

The sentiment was stamped and cut with a Spellbinders classic oval die, and the edge pierced before removing the die, faux stitched with a silver pen and the edges sponged.

The embossing folder was a Sissex by Tim Holtz that I got as part of the class I went to at SENZ.

  1. I am sorry you have had to make another Sympathy card - this is lovely, so simple and elegant! I am sure it will be received with much appreciation. I was surprised when I went to top up my cards at the local shop today when I saw that they had gone through so many Sympathy cards - and Baby cards! Well done my friend! {{{hugs}}}

  9. This card is just lovely. I love the faux stitching. I think the three month point is a bit of a milestone...not so much breastfeeding and a little more of routine. Thanks for stopping over at my blog and not giving up on me! I hope to be over here more regularly now.

I'm actually needing to make some sympathy cards, and I might have to borrow this idea...it really captures the emotion. Thank you so much for the inspiration! Best, CG

    Thank you for visiting with me and I apologize for not visiting with you more. I've been looking at your previous cards and they are all very creative and pretty. I am looking at the encouragement card you made for a friend. It's so soft and pretty, I love the postcard look.

  25. Oo, that's a cool card, Maxine! I thought the stitching was done on a sewing machine and I was thinking "How in the world did she get those stitches so even around an oval?" Well, your technique explains it all, so very clever and a great effect! I'm going to have to try that!

    Have a lovely day Hon!
