Floral, this time.

Welcome again!
I had no sooner completed the first two sympathy cards I needed this week when I heard that I needed a third!

This time I went 'floral' and I am very happy with the result, although it took me all afternoon and I had several 'oops' occasions!

I started with some paper that was on my desk - that had been under some die cuts I had painted and sprayed with a silver glimmer mist.  I know my friend would have laughed with me over using this!

This is a close-up of the shimmer that is on the paper.
I edged all the layers with a quick rub over a bundled sage distress ink pad.

I found some cream shimmery organza ribbon and tied a triple bow.

Stamped, embossed and cut and sponged the sentiment panel.  A bit of an oops there - I discovered when I went to emboss, I must have touched the stamp twice, and I had to take a fine sable brush and tidy the excess....

Now if you have never seen a cream and blue flower with blue leaves, I can understand, but  my friend was never one for the conventional....

I initially assembled this onto just the cream base.  I then stamped a sentiment inside and some flowers... and messed around with the flower colouring it, and boo-boo'd again, so badly that in the end I cut the back of the card off and mounted the front on a blue layer, and that really tied the whole thing together and made it 'sing' - finally!  Needless to say the inside now has just a simple sentiment stamped on it!

May your day be blessed.

A beautiful card, for someone who sounds like they were very special to you. It's sad to make sympathy cards, but when reading your post, I get the impression that it gave you some time to be with your friend in your heart. I hope so.

The card is really lovely. Not one of your "oops" shows!

Blessings to you.
