Simple Poppies

Welcome
Yesterday it was sunny and warm and very 'springlike', and I spent the day outside gardening.

Today has turned wet and COLD, so I retreated to the studio and made a card.

Although this looks very simple, and one may think it would have gone together quickly, no-way - it fought me every inch of the way.  This is the third stamping and second colouring of the image!! (Precious Poppies by SNS)

The flowers were coloured using ink from distress pads, as that was the only way I could get the red that I wanted.

After painting the feature panel, I spritzed it with perfect pearls in a blue tone, and the distress inks reacted with the moisture,

Which added to the 'watercolour' effect when the perfect pearls had a wee splotch in the middle of the stems.

I finished the panel with some ribbon, pearls and faux stitching before mounting it over the red base.

I am quite happy with the final result, but what a marathon to get there!
