A Small Boy's Racing Car

Welcome

I made this card recently for a grandson who, like any young boy, loves cars.

The background was a piece of water colouring I had been playing with some time previously.

The number circle is one designed by Cindy Close, that was given as a freebie some years ago.  It came in black and white, and I was very pleased with myself that I was able to use my print programme to colour it. (I am not a great computer whiz, and the programme is a freebie that I don't use much.)
As you can see, I added some Kindy Glitz to brighten it up.

The sentiment (a Kiwi Stamping one)was white embossed, coloured with a silver pen, then glittered.

The car (by Wags n Whiskers) was stamped on white card and coloured with metallic pencils, then metallic pens were used to add another layer of sheen.

The driver was coloured using watercolour pens. The final detail after assembling the card was to doodle around the water coloured layer before adhering it to the creme card base that I had sponged with Tea Dye DI.
The number plate was personalised with my grandson's initials.

Delightful & perfect image for a 4 yr old future racer. Love the way you've colored the car with pencils and overlaid with the metallic. I'm in awe that you digitally changed your sentiment color too. Also loved your 'best side to London' idea! Never heard that before, and it's spot on! TFS & Hugs

Oops, forgot to say, also liked the way you spotlighted different sections of the card for a nice closeup. Great idea.

Maxine, I had to laugh at your language comment. Sometimes 'darn' or 'dang it' just doesn't express what you need to say! Hugs & hope you had a lovely Friday down your way. I hope you'll share some pictures sometime as I would love to see New Zealand's beauty. Shaz in Oz posts pictures of her area and it's such a treat to see them.

Your watercoloring is a great backdrop for the sweet racing card image. Love the metallic coloring and the shimmer you added to your card- betting the little guy loved it too : )
