Sweet Baby Girl

Welcome

I would like say hello to  Ellie of My Creative Moments who is a new follower.
Please pop over to her blog as see her wonderful work.

I made this card as an order for a soon to be Great Aunt - she knew the arrival was to be a wee girl, and wanted an appropriate card, but not a 'fussy' card, and this is the result.

I started with a scrap of embossed white card and sponged it using Spun Sugar DI., and layered if over some (ancient) patterned paper on the bright pink base.

The 'pram' was first cut with a spellbinders oval from some beautiful textured paper that is almost as old as the pp.  I then cut the oval to suit, sponged the edges with memento Poppy ink, and added the deep red 'wheels' and handle.  Some narrow lace was mounted behind the edge of the hood.

The rose is one I crocheted in white, but I wiped it over the Spun Sugar ink to give it some colour.

The sentiment was embossed onto some of the red paper and popped under the edge of the rose, then there were pink and white pearls added to finish the card.

My customer was very happy with the card.

Absolutely delightful welcome baby card. Loved reading the how-tos, and that was clever to use the oval as you did. Made a beautiful baby carriage with the tiny wheels & the pearl trims. Love the partial top embossing too. Bet the great-Aunt loved it equally so. TFS & Hugs.

I thought you had the crochet flower in the variegated yarn but how clever of you to ink it and let me tell you, it came out pretty good! Wonderful job! Hugs and blessings!

Wonderful design- love the idea of starting with an oval, and loving the Zig Zag trim to finish the opening. Beautiful crocheted flower and love the idea to add a little color to it as well.
