Two Botanical CASEs

Welcome

Back in July I saw this post by Alicia on her blog Time To Create, showcasing the Kaisercraft Botanica collection.  I was so taken with all her samples ( she did three posts) that I bought a 6x6 stack of the Botanica papers when I saw them at a craft fair a while later.

I needed a couple of quick cards recently, and both were for women who are keen gardeners, so I reached for the pad, remembering Alicia's post as I did so.
These are the result.

The main elements in both cards were the papers, including the small botanical samples and a pre-printed label.

This card was made using a purple colour scheme, and added some ribbon and clear rhinestones to finish. All edges were sponged with purple ink.

I stamped the sentiment and embossed with pale lilac ep.

Here is a close up of the ribbon and rhinestone treatment.

The other card was made with a green colour scheme.

The mauve twine and rhinestones were the embellishments, and the edges were sponged with green ink.

And the sentiment was embossed in dark green.

I kept this card a simple as the background paper has a wonderful sheen to it.
While I was photographing this I was closely supervised by Octavius, our resident teenager with attitude, (and unfortunately arthritis)!

I really like how these turned out Maxine. The PP is gorgeous and really makes the card. Love the photo of your kitty. I have to say mine also likes to get amongst it while I take the photos outside.

Maxine, I have been Looking at this beauty for far too long. Botanicals are classic and you have used this simple but dramatic layout to display them. The scattered bling looks like dew drops. Summing up.... I really like this card. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday, in our 199th challenge.
Blessings and Hugs, Carole

These are MY kind of cards. Just can't beat florals in my opinion. Lucky you to find this wonderful paper set...because it made for some pretty cards. Love the bright garden greens with the delicate femininity of the lavendars. Well done, on using the papers to such great effect. I should go look through some of my stash, as I have some G45 that is floral motifs...these botanicals are just lovely. TFS & Hugs

What a gem Octavius is! A little Roman in his name, I see! (I wanted to study European History as a college minor until my brother talked me out of it!) What a great card, how creative to use the paper as the elements in lieu of stamping, but your trademark awesome embossing is on there - fabulous arrangement of the sparkly gems!! One of your best yet, Max! ♥
