Missed it!!

Welcome

I am taking this opportunity to wish all my visitors and happy and prosperous 2016

I made this card yesterday - for a male family member who's birthday I had forgotten....

The stamp is from Kiwi Stamping, and I gold embossed it, cut it with a SB Labels Three, before adding some colour with chalks.  I used washi tape with destinations printed on it to ground the car.

My printer is currently not co-operating with my computer, so the words were written free hand, trimmed and edged with the same pen before sponging.

These photos show the background paper - some embossed Kraft paper by
 Tim Holtz.

All the edges were sponged using Tea Dye and Walnut Stain DI.  I trialed the home made sponge daubers that Suchi shared here, and loved them - I can see a lot more being made.

Oh Maxine, this card is simply so lovely. I liked the hand lettered sentiment and you must go through as much gold embossing powder as I do. The image brings up lovely memories of days gone by. My motto in these cases is better late than never. Thank you for all the sweet comments you leave on my blog. We are under another big snow storm warning having just had so much heavy dry snow blown in with a furious north east wind. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday in our 216th- FF AG challenge! Praying you will have a Blessed, Prosperous, Peaceful and Creative 2016, Carole

Cute, cute, CUTE! There you go again with that absolutely perfect embossing, Maxine. I so wish I could sit down and stamp with you. What am I doing wrong? I get clumps, bumps, missed spots (with no embossing), smears, and I end up either giving up on the card, or I end up feeling not at all proud of how it looks and I get discouraged. I guess, as with everything, practice makes perfect. But I hail you as the Queen of Embossing and that title belongs to you officially now. LOL

I am SO incredibly grateful for you, Maxine. Not only for sharing your sweet creations with us at Word Art Wednesday, but also for all your enouraging comments and your sweet spirit. You encourage and bless me so much more than you probably even realize. God is using you to bless my life, and I praise Him for that. Have a blessed week, my friend.
Hugs,
Karen

P.S. Feel free to check out the challenges at CropStop - I'd love to have you share there if you feel up to it. The only requirement is to use anything that's sold in the store, and they carry all kinds of inks and embossing powders, and so much more. You'd qualify to link up if you're interested. www.cropstop.com/blog
