Mono Print, die cuts and stamping.

Welcome

This card started with a mono-print I made off a stencil some time ago using Tea Dye and Walnut Stain Distress Inks.  I sprayed it with gold Perfect Pearls, but it blotched on the lower part of the card, so I trimmed it back to the print.

I laid it on the Kraft card, and then decided to stamp some random compass images on the lower part of the card base in versamark and dusted gold perfect pearls over them to give a subtle background.

To add a wee bit more interest I fossicked through my supplies and found these wonderful shiny die cut cogs that were a RAK from MariLynn at Mississippi McGyver,  cut them, and placed them around the panel and under the sentiment banner.

I had no dark brown card to make the sentiment banner, so sponged some Walnut Stain DI on white, let it dry (assisted with the heat gun) and then white embossed the wording.

I am linking this to:

Two die cuts, two stamps, two colours on the monoprint.

I love all the cool angles on this card. You've managed to take fairly clean, graphic lines and grunge them up a bit (which you know I'm a total fan of!)

Oh! For the longest time I thought these photos were just small parts of your overall card. That first photo is what threw me for a loop. LOL. I like it even if it confused me. I'm impressed with how you got the dark brown piece. If I tried that it would be a hot mess for sure.

Another great male card for which I am always on the lookout for inspiration. I have been reminded on multiple occasions that I need to make more male cards.
I like the way you cut the little die cuts and the way you coloured the sentiment banner with walnut stain.

Happy crafting,

Monica

This is great, Maxine! I love the stencilled part in particular and I bet the Perfect Pearls effect looks even better in real life. Excellent masculine card!

Another technique you have nailed that I cannot do (SteamPunk or whatever they call it), your card turned out great. I love the gears and how the ink looks. Great job.

That's a nice 'mechanical' feeling card, Maxine. I like how you've kind of aged/rusted parts of the design.

Love the natural feel on this project...The use of Kraft and inking is fabulous, my friend! So glad you linked up your creation with us at Word Art Wednesday. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word in 1 Corinthians 1:18 which says, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Be blessed!
