Stitched Sunflowers

Welcome

This is not my usual card style, but I was gifted a slew of small cross stitch kits a while ago, and I finally got this one made up - I say finally because for sometime I could not stitch due to problems with my hands, which are now thankfully resolved

I started with some water colour paper and dribbled the various colours across/down it - it took a while to get it how I wanted it to look, but it was worth persisting.  I then flicked some colour across the whole piece of paper to complete the background.

I trimmed the stitched piece to the size I wanted and mounted it onto some white card with Perfect medium, then onto the base.

The sentiment was stamped onto a snippet of the base card and copper embossed to match the stitched sentiment, and hand cut into the banner shape and mounted using foam dots to give some dimension.

Oh dear Maxine - I don't like the sound of that last bit in your blogpost. Thinking of you both and sending special gentle hugs - and Blessings.
Love your card - I would never attempt cross stitch, yours is beautiful and what a lovely way to mount it.
Thinking of you

I love this card Maxine. I started card-making with stitched kits many years ago. And sunflowers have always been one of my favourites. They lend themselves to crafting. You have made a lovely card with yours. Sorry to hear about the health issues. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay strong. Kate xx

pretty pretty!! What a fabulous embroidered piece! I'm sorry your hands are giving you trouble. My eyes are doing that for me. At 49, I'm squinting WITH glasses and can't see as far as my hands! Superb background - I just played with watercolors this week, too!

This is lovely, Maxine. The cross stitch is so delicate and the texture adds greatly to the card design.
