Splattered Birthday

Welcome

I don't know if Blogger is being rude or what, but I have lost a couple of followers of late 😕.

This is the last card I made for my 2016 birthdays - unfortunately it still has to be sent....

It is for a young man whom I have not met as that branch of the family is overseas, so I went for something neutral.  I made the splats by banging distress stains on the linen cardstock.

I did an extra layer on the reds, and sprinkled on and embossed some psychedelic  E.P.

The sentiment was embossed with an embossing powder called Metallic Medley, which has numerous colours in it, but it does not show well in the photograph.

  1. Delightful idea. I might use this design with some more pastel/feminine colours.

  4. Maxine... I love the splatters! Great birthday card.

Oh, and blogger was mean to me, too. I lost a couple of followers as well. I personally think some people clean up their list of following at the end of the year, because most years I lose a few at the very end.

  6. Well Maxine, it is always interesting how we can substitute the real thing is splattery objects instead of a splatter stamp! Well done.
Ive added you to my favourite blogs on my sidebar so it theoretically should show up when you post. However even though I know it's there it is not showing up as such on the external part of my blog, only internal, annoying.
Rather like your missing followers I had that happening to me a few months back it was one step furward then two steps back when it came to numbers.
It maybe that folk have simply fallen off your list as recently a blogger joined my blog who'd joined ages ago and then month later I had to rejoin her blog, that's blogger no rhyme or reason. 😑
However as I keep reminding myself it is a free service we don't pay for it. 😊
    Thanks for sharing your inspiration,

  8. I like the SPLATS. They show such movement. I can even hear the bang as they get made. So fun! Also, I can't say I thought about it before but splats surely are neutral! :-) Happy day to you!

  14. I love the effect of the distress stain splats here . A fantastic card for a young man!
I used the effect of banging the distress stains yesterday on a page as well - I use the stains not often - always forget that I have a few bottles of them!
That's quite dubious with the followers always - I heard that from so many other bloggers too... don't mind it too much - blogger is strange!
