Layered Butterfly

Welcome

This card started as part of the Daily Marker 30 Day Colouring Challenge.
The images were coloured while waiting in a hospital waiting room recently.
So I used my el-cheapo pencils and layered and layered the colours.

The coloured images sat for some days until inspiration hit - die cut one using a stitched circle M.B. die, and fussy cut the other and layer it.

I was gutted when I realised that the paper I had coloured on was a different white to the base, but I had to keep going ...

The sentiment was silver embossed.

This gives an idea of the dimension of the butterfly.

The final detail to show you was that I embossed the base with a stitched rectangle M.B. die.  I had to extend the die to reach the bottom edge, as our card sizes are slightly larger than American ones, and it worked perfectly!! I was very happy with that.
The finishing touch was to add the sequins.

I am linking this to:

(I took the delicate pink and the purple/gray colours and circular form of the bowl)

  1. I think your cheap-o pencils have magic in them - or maybe it's just the person doing it, because this is sensational and so gorgeous! A stunning card!!!

  6. Well, the fact that the butterfly turned out so beautiful is a testament to your awesome coloring tools. It's not the tools, but the artist that makes all the difference.
