Turtle and Balloons

Welcome

My youngest grandchild turned five recently, and this is the card I made for him.

I started with some papers from a SU pad called Season of Style - part of a most generous blog candy 'prize' from Angela Crockett over at Body Mind Spirit and Stamps

I paired that with some green card I had on hand, and used it for both the base and a layer.
The image is a Bugaboo digi, Turtle Birthday,  that I had coloured some time ago with my Poly-Chromo pencils.

The sentiment was computer generated, then printed and gold embossed on some vellum, the edges of which I then ripped to size.

I attached some of the layers with gold brads, and distressed and inked all the edges to tie all the layers together.

  21. Oh, how cute!!! I know he is going to love this cutie!!!! Love the embossing! I never thought of heat embossing from a printed sentiment. I rarely use my printer for stamping because the ink doesn't dry. DUH! Emboss it!!! Cool!

  26. OK...now I'm totally blown away, Maxine. Not only did you emboss your sentiment in gold, which is lovely, but you somehow embossed his name in gold. How on earth did you do that? You amaze me. I hope you had half as much fun making this card as I had viewing it. This card will most definitely be cherished.
