Ribbon and Layers

Welcome

I don't often make cards with many layers, but this was the exception to that 'norm', and I was very happy with the results.

I was inspired by scraps on my desk, and the fact that the recipient is quite feminine, and loves the Lord, so a scripture stamp was appropriate

The scripture was stamped onto a journaling card (by Prima) in Espresso ink, and the panel had the ribbon and clear rhinestones added before I layered it over the scrap of pink the same as the base, and a scrap of embossed card that I had tried to colour and it hadn't really worked... the smudges don't show with it being layered like this!

I used a neutral coloured paper on the base, and wanted the colour of the sentiment to blend in, and tone with the ribbon - it did that a bit better than I thought it would, but as it does not detract from the overall look of the card, I let it be, and did not try to redo it before assembling the layers.
A few sequins and the card was finished.

I'm the same with layers Maxine, but this one looks really effective and stamping the Psalm onto the patterned paper works really well.

A lovely card Maxine. I love that scripture verse too. I like layered cards but try to only make them for friends I am going to deliver to by hand. Our post lady doesn't like it when I take a too thick card up to post! Kate x

You know I love my layers Maxine - and they look great on this card. The scripture is beautiful! I often use Espresso Tuffle Ink - it is slightly softer than black but still stands out. Lovely card! {{{hugs}}}

A Stunning card for sure ~ the brick wall paper, wonderful choice. Layers ~ you can't get enough layers! Scripture on that floral paper is beautiful and the ribbon holding it together with the sequins is just perfect.
