6 H's and a Butterfly

Welcome

It was a cloudy and cooler day today so I took the opportunity to 'play' in my studio.
I was fascinated by Mrs A's Butterfly Challenge this round, so made this card to fit!

This is my result, which I might add, I am rather pleased with...

I stippled the Viva Harvest Gold paint through a Honey Bee Layering background stencil onto the Hunter Green card, and used the same card to heat emboss the sentiment on.

The hearts (an unidentified die)  and butterfly,( by Memory box) were die cut from Hot Pink, then painted with a hot pink Mica based paint that dried lighter :(.

I cut the background into a large hexagon (that was quite a challenge for this geometry challenged oldie), layered that over a glitter card stock before adhering it to the white base.

To finish I added the stripes down the spine of the card, and a touch of gold under the sentiment before adding the die cuts and the hot pink rhinestones for the butterfly's flight path and body.

I am linking this to:

(I used all seven elements)

  15. You should be pleased, Maxine! Your anniversary is so bright and festive with the gold and pink schparkle, which looks great with the green! It's perfect for Mrs. A's challenge! (I, too, would have spent more time making that hexagon than I would making the whole card, lol!) Hugs, Darnell

  18. Gorgeous and so interesting design. The gold in the honeycomb really shines so nicely, and love that you did the aperture. Such depth adds even more interest to your pretty design. Love the idea of the colored c/s touched with more mica, as it is a smashing color. I like the delicate butterfly over the honeycomb - and the gold colors are marvelous with the black and pink. TFS & Hugs. Happy Mother's Day.
