Gamer Boy

Welcome

It's been way longer than I intended ... the trip to Australia was a wonderful time, and life has been hectic since I returned - I'm not sure if time is going faster, or I am going slower, these past few years, but I seem to be getting more and more behinder!

I was recently asked to make some cards for a friend.  This one was for a youngster who loves his computer games.

I had no computer images as such, so some free clipart was searched for and found!
I printed out the images and then trimmed them out...

The background paper is some I saved from a stamping magazine years ago...

The sentiment, placed in the centre of the gaming console, was stamped, using a magazine freebie by Rare Earth Stamps, scanned and sized to fit.  Once adhered, I put a layer of Glossy Accents over it

One of the pixelated images did not fit on the outside so was adhered to the left of the inside if the card

And a strip of the patterned paper decorated the bottom of the other side.

The recipient loved the card.

  3. Maxine, this is such a great card! My kids had game systems like this back in the early 2000's. I think this is called a Game Boy, but I'm not 100% sure. I love how you did the little details, like the Glossy Accents over the screen. It's so realistic looking.

Your post made me chuckle. I'm so glad you had a good time in Australia, but it can be difficult catching up. You've managed to make a great card though. He will love it! I'm guest designing over at Word Art Wednesday this month so I wanted to come over and thank you for playing along with them this round. Keep creating wonderful cards!

  4. And I can certainly testify that the card was well received Maxine! My Grandson loved every single bit of it - he turned 10 so was at a good age to appreciate all the details. I told him my friend Maxine made it for him. Thank you so much! xx

  8. Not surprised the recipient loved his card. The background paper is perfect for this theme and I love the images you found on the internet. i do that when struggling with my Thursday challenge blog. I am sat here looking at the card and wondering how on earth you found those images, I would be at a loss as what to put in the search engine.
    It's Fab!
    Blessings, Neet xx
