Birthday Crocus

Welcome

Just a quick post today
I needed a card, and had one 'sort of' started, but it would not cooperate.. so it sat there for some days, and the birthday crept closer.

I saw a card by Bev of Uniko on Instagram, and was inspired, but the 'realistic' side of me could not stamp that in purple, which was the colour I wanted to use.

So I pulled out my trusty Crocus stamp by Uniko (which appears to have been discontinued) By this time I was not particularly well, so rather than divide my panel into three,
I simply coloured the crocus with my FC Polychromo pencils,
stamped the sentiment, (a magazine freebie) brushed the edges and assembled

  1. It turned out to be a beautiful card Maxine, and I really love how you finished it off with the little gems. So pretty! So great to see you at my Garden Party and also thanks for sharing at Allsorts challenge!

  2. This is very pretty. I have just made a very similar card with a single iris in the same shade. The trouble is I mostly only make cards for specific people so I don't post them until after the birthday and then I forget! Maybe I will take some inspiration from you. Kate x

  10. Maxine, your card is lovely! Your purple flower is perfect. I think it’s important that we go with our heart. I laughed out loud when I saw that your card would not cooperate. That’s hysterical! I have had that happen to for sure. I really like how you placed the little gems on the flower and not around it. I would not have thought to do that, but they make perfect dew drops. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Word Art Wednesday. We appreciate your participation!
