Roses, Lace and Pearls

Hello to all you who visit - it's great to know you call by :-)

This will be a brief post as life here is somewhat fraught with things medical as well as our DD due to deliver her babe at any time!!

I made this card for a dear friend who loves green - my starting point - and I can always associate roses, lace and pearls with her - so here is my card.

The light today is not the best with the sun playing hide and seek with the clouds, but this is fairly true to the original colours.

I put the green base through the cuttle bug with the Oriental Weave folder - gotta love that texture!!  I wanted a specific scripture quote and used the computer to generate this one, (James 5:16b) from the Holman Christian Standard Bible.

I printed it on a thin card, cut it out with a Nestabilities classic oval, embossed it and sponged it with Chalk, Warm Red ink.

I surrounded it with a half wreath of roses from the Layers of Color set Vintage Roses - stamped in black ink and then coloured with chalks and added some Kindy Glitz for a wee bit of sparkle, and mounted this on dimensionals.

The lace is some from my stash, which has been boosted recently from a sale in town :-), and added the half pearls - green on the green card and white on the lace and on the bottom of the scripture feature.

This was then mounted onto the pink base, the edges of which I sponged with the Warm Red ink.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stamping Sisters in Christ Challenge #34 - to have a card reflecting prayer or praise, based on the scripture Phil. 4:1-7, to rejoice and not be anxious, but rather pray, in all circumstances.
Stampin' Royalty Challenge #15 - KISS - Keep it Simple Sweetie
My Time To Craft - Pretty Pearls
Crafty Angels - My Favourite Things - lace
Practical Scrappers - Glitter and bling

Thanks for calling by.  I love knowing you have called and especially treasure your encouraging comments.
