Nature Walk

Greetings  - the last couple of days the weather has thought that it is still winter, although officially it is spring, so it has turned cold and wet, which has meant studio time for me - not that I am complaining.

I finished this card yesterday afternoon, but could not photograph it until this morning as the light was appalling.

I started with this dark blue scrap that was on my desk and ran it through the cuttlebug in the Textile Texture folder  - to add emphasis to the design I ran a brayer loaded with Brilliance Moonlight white ink over it - then clear embossed it,  although the white does not show much, overall it gave the embossing a wonderful dimension.

With spring in mind, I decided to use my Layers of Color stamp set Nature Walk and stamped the flourish on the base cardstock - the joy of clear stamps (which these are) is that you can position them so easily :-).

I then stamped the flowers from the same set in Brilliance Pearlescence Orchid, cut them out and layered them with dimensional tape.  The center of the smaller one was beaded using micro beads set in white craft glue.

It took a few minutes moving the flower around the card before I was happy with where I wanted to position it.

I wanted to add some lace, and in the end resorted to some paper lace I had on hand - it was white and looked too stark, so I inked it with the orchid ink, with a most satisfactory result.

The sentiment was added using the same ink as was used on the flourish - I chose this script-like stamp as it 'fitted' with the flourish.

The final detail were the rhinestones in the corner.

Overall a card that I am very happy with, and was not very time consuming to make - I also used some materials that have been 'just sitting' for a while.
