Green, Gold and Trees

Welcome.
It's great to be here again, and I hope you think that too.

This is the third of the sympathy cards that I had to make recently.

I started with the deep green base and after spraying it with a silver glimmer mist, I ran it through the cuttlebug with one of the dies from the boarderabilites sets by Spellbinders.

The image is an old SU one, Lovely as a Tree, and was stamped using two brown inks and some green.  I also tried running a blending pen over the images to slightly blur the trees, but the pen was a bit dry and it is barely visible. Chalks were then added to give the sky and grass some colour.

The sentiment is an Our Daily Bread one, stamped and silver embossed and cut using a labels die, and attached using silver brads.

When I went to assemble the card the dark brown behind the green was too severe, so I added the layer of golden brown paper and the card 'came to life' as it were.

  1. I love that image of trees, and the way you have die cut across the card to show the gold through. Very nice! Kate x

  9. Such gorgeous embossing on this lovely card, Maxine. It really shines when the light hits it, and it makes me wish I could see it in real life. It did look amazing when I clicked on it to enlarge the photo and I can just tell that it's even more beautiful in person.
    So pretty!
