Zentangling

Welcome

Just a quick post tonight - I had hoped to blog before this, but DH managed to break an ankle in two places on Sunday and life has been a bit fraught since then.

I made this card on Saturday - I had doodled the zentangled panels while waiting for hospital appointments (for DH) last week!

The sentiment is embossed on a matching die cut.

The zentangles were created inside a line that I had run around inside the die. These are my first 'tangles', and I did them with a black ball point pen as I did not have a fine tipped ink flow type pen.

I also tried some shading with this last tangle.

I am not sure that I will do a lot with zentangling, but the doodling was a good way to fill in time while waiting for appointments.

Thank you for visiting - any comments you may leave are deeply appreciated
May your day be blessed

  7. Love the way you used the zentangle on here. I've yet to even try it! So cute.
You take care of yourself because even though your husband is the one that's injured I know how hard it is on you too.

  9. A fabulous job for the first one. Don't put down the pen and forget about it. You are good at it.

I know what it means to break an ankle. I broke the ankle socket and both major bones in my right leg. NOT FUN. Will keep you both in prayer.

  11. I love seeing your cards and what new technique you are trying! Next, give this a try this inside of a stamped image : ) You are good at tangling! Love the idea of drawing a line inside of a precut shape and tangling like this!
So sorry to hear about the ankle break- sounds like you are going to be busier than ever- praying for a speedy recovery and as little pain as possible!

  12. Hi Maxine...Thanks for the wonderful comment on my latest card. You may be wondering why I haven't shared any verse and that is because that post published prematurely. I was not done creating my post and wanted to just saved the contents but was unable to program my posting and so, I was unable to do anything but to just keep on working on it...LOL Anyway, if you want to see the entire post, it's done! So sorry to hear about your hubby's ankle...Praying he's doing better. Now, that is very clever of you to use your time at the hospital doodling. You did an awesome job with your card today. Great colors and fantastic lay-out...God bless and thank you for always encouraging and visiting my page.

    Hugs and blessings,

  14. Oh how fun Maxine! I have not tried zentangles yet but they sure are pretty and I can imagine as much as I like to doodle while I'm on the phone or something like that... I think it would be relaxing! I love how you gave yourself a line inside the die cut! Great way to use time sitting and waiting!!! Love the fun card they created too!

  15. Maxine, I bought some Tangle books 2 yrs ago, and haven't tried it yet! I'm interested to read that you did this with a ballpoint pen..each one is just really pretty. I'm impressed that these are your 1st tangles, (and done at a stressful time as well!). The pieces made an interesting & unique card, very bold & graphic. I like it! Hope your DH is feeling some better by now. That has to be very painful. Hope you're not being worn out with all the TLC that I know will be in order until he recovers! TFS & best wishes for a speedy recovery. Can't wait to see your next Tangles. Hugs
