A Crochet Flower and Splats

Welcome

I would like to welcome my newest follower, Karen Hasheck, whose beautiful blog is Karens Kreative Kards.

This is the card that I alluded to in my last post, the one that I had taught at class this week.

I started with an old stamp from Kiwistamping - I think it was my original background/script stamp, and it appears to have been retired.  I inked it with three shades of green in distress ink, ensuring that both times the darkest ink was toward the centre of the card.

The splats were made with distress stains.  I added the crochet 'poof' flower and heart over the ribbons - all attached with glue dots.

The sentiment is another Kiwistamping oldie but a goodie, possibly my first birthday greeting, stamped in DI, and cut with a s/b tag, threaded on the same ribbon that I used on the central feature.

Rhinestones were the finishing detail, both on the tag and the main panel of the card.

I am linking this to:
(stains and ribbon have been around for well over 2 years)

Thank you for visiting - any comments you may leave are deeply appreciated.
May your day be blessed

  3. Maxine, this is very pretty. I liked your idea of adding the 3 shades of ink to the script, and the middle definitely showed nicely. The splats are great detail too, behind that pretty crotchet flower. Hmm...wonder if yo-yo's (the gathered fabric circles) would work like this? Good idea, and something to try. Lovely card, lots of interesting dimension, and the texture on the sentiment made me think of cross stitch with the crotchet flower. TFS & Hugs
