Gone to the Dogs

Welcome

We have had some wet weather here, so that was s great excuse for me to hide in my studio and make some cards for an order I have.

The customer wanted a 'doggie' card, if possible a black labrador - and thanks to Paulette at Create with TLC I found what I needed.

The image I obtained had brown in it, so I chalked over it with black chalks - and much to my delight the sketch lines were visible through the chalks.

I mounted the image on plain card, which had the edges coloured with Viva Decor Inka Gold Paste, embossed the sentiment onto a snippet and shaped it into a tag, which I threaded onto red and gold ribbon, and adhered on a foam dot to give some dimension.

I hope the customer is as happy with this card as I am.

  9. Maxine,
The dogs seems quite lifelike. You did a super job with the highlights. As usual I really like your gold embossed sentiment. Thank you so much for posting your very beautiful art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday. We hope to see you again next week.

  10. Maxine, this image turned out fabulously. Your brown markings with the chalk overlay, looked so much like 'real fur'. Love this puppy's face, and you captured the look beautifully with your choice of materials. Loved the simplicity of the matting and that his sweet look could be the focus. TFS

  11. Maxine, Forgot to say in my comment on this wonderful doggie card (which I am not seeing as yet, and hope it does finally show up!)-- it took me months of checking to finally find a USA source for the Brusho-s. Then they don't stay in stock very long. Not sure if you have an Amazon source available, that would not have prohibitive shipping, but the USA Amazon had these Brusho-s...briefly. Good luck.

  20. What a beautiful image...So delighted you blessed us with your project last week at Word Art Wednesday. We have a new Challenge going on and I hope you join us again. Leaving you with the inspiration of God's Word in Psalm 18:6 which says, "In my distress I called upon the LORD, And cried to my God for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, And my cry for help before Him came into His ears." Have a blessed weekend.
