Welcome
This is my first Christmas Card for this year - and it is part of an order.
I started by painting the background with Lindy's magical pigment powders in a green toned paint, then spraying it with some lemon Shimmer Spray
After that I stamped JOY (from a retired set of stamps) in Versamark ink, and rubbed gold perfect pearls powder over that - a very subtle effect, but I am loving it.
I then cut a Spellbinders Medallion 1 out of gold paper, and mounted it over some blue sparkle card cut to the same shape. The medallion was 'hung' with some gold edged red ribbon, and a bow added to the attachment point.
The customer wanted cards for her sisters, so I created the sentiment in my word processor and printed it onto vellum and gold embossed - I was happy with how they turned out. I tore the vellum and then layered it over the painted card.
I was placing the elements together when I saw some green punch waste trying to escape from it's draw, so I aided and abetted the escape and put it to use under the medallion. The painted layer was then placed on some gold, the same as the medallion was cut from, and then onto a red base.

ReplyDeleteDear Maxine, I don't have your email address but want to thank you for your words....I have created today as it is keeping my mind busy and off things. Jim sent me a couple of lovely emails very spiritual and words of healing. I went to bed last night with dad's photo in my hand as I do every night. Woke this morning and couldn't find it.....it was placed face up under my pillow....the first thing I saw was dad's smile.....amazing.....he was telling me he is okay....

ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas card!
ReplyDeleteI love those Lindy sprays, and never thought to try stamping as you did, over the created background. This is a wonderful look as you've done it. Love the way you've used the S/B medallion in the gleaming gold, with the blue sparkle behind it. Also loving the punch waste (a product I do not have & don't know where to find either! Probably just as well!). Lovely card, and I have never tried printing on the vellum and embossing, but it's lovely. TFS
