Welcome
It's good to be back, and to have my computer working well again.
We had a significant event within the extended family recently - a Golden Wedding Anniversary. (Not ours, we have not got there yet!!)
I have some very old alphabet stamps from All Night Media - I only ever managed to purchase six or seven, but I love them, especially for this type of card.
The sentiment is a composite effort - the "50 years" was computer generated, printed onto vellum and gold ep applied while the ink was wet - the congratulations was then stamped with Versamark and the powder applied before the whole was heated.
I had fun with water colours and painted the surrounding flowers and leaves of the letter stamps after stamping with Vintage Sepia, and then painting the letters with diluted Inka Gold gold paste.
The finished letters were mounted on kraft cardstock before being mounted on foam tape over the embossed paper - that I have been hoarding cherishing for some years now.

Beautiful coloring Maxine! And I also loved the '50' that you printed and then added gold to it! The embossing on Vellum looks great! I am back after a Diwali break and feels awesome to visit your blog! :)

ReplyDeleteThose stamps are exquisite. The embossing, dry and wet gives great dimension. Thank you so much for taking time to post your very creative art with us this week at Word Art Wednesday in our 209th AG challenge! Blessings, Carole

This is one of the most beautiful 50th cards I've yet to see! The embossing is so elegant, and perfect for the occasion. Love that inchie stamp treatment, and the colors were lovely. That must have been a tongue-in-the teeth water color effort, because your colors are placed perfectly! I would have had smears everywhere (even if I embossed the outline first). Great work on that, and so pretty with the other elements. I've yet to try the embossing over the wet ink on vellum. Vellum sort of intimidates me...This is just beautiful, Maxine. I'm sure the recipients were so proud to receive it. TFS & Hugs

ReplyDeleteAh Maxine would you believe I have some of that embossed paper, too, bought on eBay in pastel colours and lemon gold is amongst it... Used some but not all.
