Welcome
I would like to extend Christmas greeting to my newest follower - Gerrina from the Netherlands.
I had fun making this somewhat whimsical card. I started by pulling out the bike die from my NBUS stash, and cutting it in silver.
I then decided that I wanted to put something in the basket, and found that this mouse image, (an old Penny Black stamp) when trimmed, would fit perfectly. I silver embossed the image and coloured with water colour pencils, and added Glossy Accents to the balloon.
The banners were hand cut from snippets in my 'promise box', and the sentiment panel was die cut with a stitched rectangle, from an experimental piece in there too, then embossed with silver.
Here is a close up of the bike. Note to self - put glue on finely cut images with a toothpick, and not the glue bottle nozzle. I grounded the bike by mounting it on a strip of washi tape.
Rhinestones were used to finished, and turned an otherwise nondescript card into something I am happy with.

Hi Maxine, this is just such a fun card, with happy colors. I wouldn't have had a clue about the bike die (which is why I don't have this one! probably!) but it looks fabulous on this card. Adding in the tiny mouse & balloon created such personality, and your 'road' looks great. Good use of your snippets in the banners. So happy that Gerrina found your blog. Isn't it lovely when we can share friends and get to know people in all parts of the world? If they'd let us bloggers run things, we might not have such a total mess everywhere, perhaps! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and all the Blessings that you may need in 2016. Hugs

ReplyDeleteMaxine, Thanks for taking time to pop in & leave such a lovely comment today. I'm so happy you were blessed to have your loved ones with you today. Our day was quiet, but those I love best were with me, so I was very happy. It was sunny & warm...and some went out to do a little yard work. I stayed inside where it was cool! We had a glorious moonrise to enjoy tonight...and I think all of us counted our blessings. Thanks for being such an encouraging visitor with such sweet comments. Wishing you a wonderful New Year. Hugs
