My Only Valentines Card

Welcome

Here in the Antipodes we do not have the emphasis on Valentines that other parts of the world do, so I only make one card - for my dear husband.

I also 'taught' this one at card class this month.
I started by masking the card and sponging the circle in Barn Door DI.

The heart was a Marianne Die which I cut and embossed, then added the one rhinestone after mounting it on foam dots.

The sentiment was stamped using a now discontinued stamp from Layers of Color, and the strip of stripped washi tape finished the card.

I am linking this to:
Three stripes, three words, three layers on the feature, ink, die cut and rhinestone.

  1. You may only make _one_ Valentine, but you sure aced it with this one. Love the CAS but sparkling design, Your sponging and blending is just so smooth & perfectly done. Looks smashing with the embossed white heart, and that one gleaming jewel. Love the trio of stripes as a border. TFS & Happy Valentines D.

  10. What a lovely card for hubby Maxine. Honestly you aren't missing out on much, I think it's quite the overdone holiday and my hubby and I quit celebrating it years ago. I make him a card to show off at the office and he buys me a lovely craft item. No muss no fuss, no waiting in lines. lol. hugs :)

  16. A wonderful card Maxine, beautifully done!
Growing up in Europe, Valentine's Day wasn't really celebrated in my area. Now that I live in the US I bake Valentines cupcakes for my hubby :-) But we don't really do anything special. Sadly I feel like every holiday here nowadays is being so commercialized that sometimes I am glad when they are over...
