Butterfly Black and Sequins

Welcome

I came across this die cut butterfly (by Marianne Dies) that I had cut out ages ago in plain white card, and used it as a starting point for this card.

I water coloured it, then slathered it in iridescent medium to give it some sheen.

I layered it onto black card, and at the base of the piece added the die cut sentiment (a S/B die). As the gold paper was so flimsy, I added a layer of die cut card under it.

I layered the completed panel over a piece of gold paper, which I had cut the center out of with  a die to make the most of it,

After the black and gold layers were finished, they were layered onto a bright blue card, and the final details were these flower shaped sequins.

  9. It is very striking against the black background. A pretty butterfly shape and enhanced by the pearlescent treatment you added. Love the gold sentiment. Recently I couldn't find a small snippet of gold for a sentiment, so just used white c/s. Rubbed versamark on it, then Ranger Queen's Gold EP, and it worked great...not hard to die cut and sturdy enough I didn't have to back gold paper with more cardstock. Looked nice too, will be sharing later. TFS & Have a wonderful week.
