Welcome
I don't usually make two of any sort of card, but here is another negative/positive die cut butterfly card similar to the one I posted a few days ago.
I started by spraying the area under the where the butterfly would sit with some Lindy's Stamp Gang spray, sponging on some distress inks and then spraying again - the variation and gleam can be seen in this photo.
I sprayed the butterfly with the same blue, and after partially re-inserting it, painted the body and antennae with the spray.
I then took a very fine paintbrush and splattered some ink on the background and added some sequins, and there it sat for some days.... unfinished and not sure where to go.
Inspiration then struck and I added a die cut sentiment by layering two die cuts in blue card under a white layer - this gave the sentiment some interest without it dominating the card.

It's gorgeous & love the teal blues under the neutral color of the butterfly. Also very much like the raised sentiment with the 'shadow' effect. Very pretty. TFS & have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI like that you've sprayed under the butterfly but there are tiny splatters throughout. It's very nifty.
ReplyDeleteYour sprayed and layered butterfly is so pretty Maxine. Great idea to layer your die-cut sentiment with a colour underneath so it peeks out. xx

We are so blessed of your joining our Challenge at Word Art Wednesday and hope you'll join us again in the new Challenge that started today. Leaving you with the encouragement from God's Word in 2 Timothy 2:10 which says, "For this reason I endure all things for the sake of those who are chosen, so that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus and with it eternal glory." Have a wonderful week.
