Birthday Coffee,and Pounded Pansies!!

Welcome

I can finally enter a card in the Coffee Lovers Spring Blog Hop

I made this as a birthday card for a friend, starting with the background, which was made by pounding pansies between water colour paper through the cuttlebug!

My focal point is a freebie from STAMPlorations last year, which I coloured with my Prismacolor pencils.

Before adhering the coloured image, I carefully placed it on the background, lightly marked where it sat, and stamped the little sprays of flowers using markers on the stamp, positioning them around the image.

The finishing details were the pearl dots in the centres of the flowers, which promptly took the colour from the ink.

I embossed the sentiment vertically as that was really the only place it fitted...
...and  added some bee images and embossed them and added some Kindy Glitz for a touch of sparkle and whimsy.

The piece of purple ribbon was the final touch, to ground the image.
I really enjoyed making this card and was pleased with the result.

Today has been another tough day in paradise, so forgive me for not visiting/commenting on your blogs - I will be back when I can.

  2. Maxine your card is GORGEOUS. So glad that you had a chance to escape. I took care of my husband before he passed away at home from cancer so my prayers are with you since I know how tough that is. I am a RN; however, taking care of a loved one is still a challenge to have a loss of control. Sending hugs because you deserve them!!!!

  18. Very pretty card! I tried this technique a while back. (When we still had pansies in our garden. We gave up on trying to get them in our yard. They were food for the rabbits...smile)
Still saying prayers for you and your husband. Hope today is a better day.

  26. What a lovely card, nothing better than a cuppa and a book or two. Unless it is a garden full of pretty flowers like you have shown. The recipient gets all three!
I like vertical sentiments so it is "just my cup of tea".
    Hugs, Neet xx
