Welcome
When I think back to how I made this card, which is very typical of my process, I am far from organised - I do not select my background paper and then decide what colours to colour the image...
I started with the image, a (Flourishes) Begonia, and coloured that with chalks...
Then came the background, and I came across this piece that was in my 'stash', I am sure it was given to me by a friend who was experimenting with marbling acrylic paints at the time. I gave it a quick spray with a silver glimmer mist , then decided to use a doily die cut for the flower to sit on, which I cut from a Stampin' Up Christmas pad.
The sentiment I have had for years, and is a N.Z. made one, was embossed in silver, and accented with the lace.
The finishing touches were some silver sequins.

Hi Maxine, the card is beautiful, love the bright colours and the pretty shimmer on the blue background. I'm totally with you, colour first, then find something that works with the coloured image... have a wonderful week... Megan

ReplyDeleteWell I always start with my image and then look for a suitable backing paper. I think this shimmery blue is just right for your pretty flower. I like the doily die too. Kate x
ReplyDeleteI start with a vague idea in mind, usually based around a color or color scheme. Then I look for background paper and sometimes I end up changing my mind depending on what I find. I it all very loosy goosy. I start out making one thing and may end up with another. I try to keep my focus in mind (birthday card) but sometimes I loose track of even that. Great card with its shimmery background. You did well however you came about it.
