Welcome
I recently had a 'play' with my alcohol inks and some yupo paper that I have had on hand longer than I care to remember....
I watched a 'how to' video on Lolls blog to get myself started, and then just played....
The background I used here is the softer of the two results - the other is rather gaudy, and will be a challenge in itself for me to use it.
With the background on hand the card itself was easy to make.
I chose an area of the background I wanted to use, die cut it with an oval die and stamped and embossed the rose in silver. As yupo is a 'plastic paper' I had to be careful with the heat embossing.
This panel was layered over a snippet of cream card, die cut to an oval.
The sentiment was also silver embossed
some Versamark stamped flourishes in the opposite corners, and some 'crystal' rhinestones finished the purple layer, which was mounted over cream cardstock.

So pretty Maxine. I'm trying to get hold of some Yupo paper to try out the inks on it. I've used glossy card in the past.

ReplyDeleteGood job successfully tackling this technique, Maxine! You made a gorgeous background for that sweet rose!! I love using alcoholic inks on glossy paper, but still haven't tried it on Yupo paper. I've only had the Yupo paper for three years, so don't rush me!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLooks so good! Just some material that if you start with it you want to keep going... I put it away when I had a play and within a year I find myself playing with it again :)! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteI have to admit Maxine that I've never used Alcohol Inks but every time I see them, I love the effect that they give. Your card is lovely and the silver embossing works so well against the purple background. Thank you for sharing this with us at Stamping Sensations and good luck. Sandra x

Love that gorgeous background, Maxine, and the beautiful rose image. I have some Yupo paper in my stash, but haven't done much with it. You've inspired me to go and find it!
