Welcome
And a very special welcome to my newest follower Carla Aerts, co-founder of the blog
Carlins Kaartenparadijs, a new Challenge blog.
This card is using some of the tiny pieces (Snippets) from my 12" x12" paper challenge, and a
Bugaboo Stella Says Sketch Challenge. I thought I may have missed it as I have not been well, but thankfully it is a month long challenge this time!! Phew.
I printed off three copies of this image and coloured them all - I thought I had done very well and printed them on the opposite side, and end, of the sheet of card to another two images I had previously printed... much to my disgust, after colouring all the images, I realise I had printed them back to back, so ended up using just one of these images and one of the others...
I coloured the image with my Polychromos, then trimmed it, and distressed the edges before mounting it over the tags and some layers of (cereal box) card to give some dimension before adding it to the embossed background.
The sentiment (from a set of now discontinued Fire Cracker stamps) was embossed with deep green ep, and also mounted over layers
Before adding the green embossed layer to the base, I wound the twine around it three times and tied a bow for some added interest, and to 'hide' the blank top of the embossed panel, as the British stationery sizes (which I use) differ slightly from the USA ones.

I think I have a stamp and die set similar to it and I just might have to pull it out. lol I do dump stuff all the time and then think, "what was I thinking!" Crap happens but what fun we have anyway. Love this card! Hugs, Brenda

Amazing design Maxine. I love all the special elements from the adorable pencil coloured image to with distressed edges, the three tags peeking out from underneath to add colour and pattern, to the embossed black background and twine. All work so perfectly together. Glad you were feeling well enough to make this beauty and hope you continue to feel good. Take care. xx

It's a cute image, and is sure to bring some happy to this pretty card. I really like the way you've used some of the earlier paper snippets as a most interesting border on the card. (It's lovely paper, and I hope you can use up every single bit of it!) A brilliant idea to design this as you've done. Sorry to hear you've not been well, but certainly hope you are feeling better for the weekend. Blessings and Hugs
