Birthday Chick - With a Twist

Welcome

I love the Art Impressions stamps, but only own two sets.  I used the Spring Chicken set for this card to send to a friend who is older than I am....

I coloured the image with my Prismcolor pencils, following the image on the packaging for colour placement, but I used greys not browns.  To add some class, I added glossy accents to the mug and her glasses.

I grounded her with some grass, and then added chalk to the background to softly colour the sky, but having already stamped and embossed the sentiment, I left it white to add to the impact of it.

The twist is that this is an easel card

I embossed the panel with a net pattern, and swiped an espresso ink pad over it, then added buttons, and washi tape for a rustic/ farmyard feel.

I was pleased how this turned out, and my friend loved it!

  3. I have a couple of draws of Art Impressions, mostly the smaller scene building ones for use in class, they used to be easy to find in the UK but not so much recently. The image you have used here is such fun, thanks so much for sharing with us at Allsorts challenge.

  13. Great card, Maxine, really fun images Art Impressions. I don’t have any .. don’t seem to see them in Oz but must admit I don’t look either as have so many uninked!
Or neglected. (Love the use of glossy accents on the mug too. )
But confess to inking up a new one today! A Nellie Snellen, I didn’t even know they made them. I’ll hopefully be sharing tomorrow, it’s very very CAS, one layer. Love that EF too, but have enough of them too! Yess must use more NBUS. Should be a NBUS Challenge, fortnightly or such.
Pray the BCC is cleanly done for you second time around, second goes are no fun at all. My shin has gone backward in last two days .. may end up going to Drs again. Hopefully, am praying it will look happier at next dressing change. Did some gardening yest which didn’t help I suspect?
God bless dear Maxine thanks so much for your encouragement on the Wonderful Words blog.
    Prayer hugs,

  14. Absolutely adorable Maxine. What a fabulous image to use for friends cards and I can imagine it can be used in many ways to cover all kinds of anniversaries/celebrations.
You have made such a good job of colouring it and I love how you grounded your hen, something I always forget to do so have figures floating all the time. Must think of you next time I do a journal page - but I bet I forget the grounding.
    Hugs, Neet xx
