Angel Wings

Welcome

This week's card for Word Art Wednesday, features the digital freebie that is currently available on the site,  It is from Psalm 91:11.
As soon as I saw it I thought of wings, knowing I had a die of wings, and a set of stamps...

I had in mind a certain gentleman from our congregation who is currently in hospital, so this influenced my design to be fairly CAS.

I die cut the wings above the scripture panel from vellum, using the Spellbinders Die D-lites, Wings and Crown set, and adhered it under the feature panel.

The wing (from Layers of Color Regal Wings, now defunct) was stamped over the scripture in Versamark ink, and then 'coloured' with gold perfect pearls powder.

The gold paper that I used in the background was from the Amy Tangerine Sunshine and Good Times 6x6 pad - thankfully although the light was good enough for photography, it was not so bright that the gold 'glowed'!

The only embellishment was some red metallic cord wrapped around the gold paper, and an extra knot over the cross-over to hold it in place and create some interest.

I finished the inside with a narrow strip of gold Washi tape.

I am linking this to:
(I did not use the Back To School Optional Twist)

  5. Oh WOW, I love the free digi you used. Truly beautiful words and so appropriate for the gentleman. Love how you have used the decut wings to peek over the top. I think you were right to just add some red metallic cord alongside the gold paper in the background. A beautiful card.
