Welcome
I seem to have spent the week "spinning my wheels" and getting nowhere very fast!
I was recently playing with some new product from
that I was able to purchase with a prize voucher, it is called Cosmic Shimmer, and I was using the Thistle colour. I coloured a snippet of card with the glaze, and immediately feel in love with it
I cut the butterfly from the coloured snippet using a Marianne butterfly die that I have had for years.
Love, love, love the way the light plays on the coloured card!
I had been given some window card bases, and on the centre layer I used my new makeup brushes to brush Broken China DI through a Daisy Cluster stencil - oh bliss, how wonderful to use, and I am finally getting some respectable work using my stencils. I used some yellow ink to colour the centres using a paint brush.
The sentiment, an old Kiwistamping one, was silver embossed on a hand cut banner from the coloured card. Pink rhinestones were added to the butterfly's body and the card was complete.

A very stylish creation Maxine and the Butterfly looks lovely with the gems down his thorax.

ReplyDeleteStunning card, Maxine, I love the shimmer. I've recently started using some new make-up brush for inking through stencils too. I love them! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful card, Maxine. I'm sure the shimmer is even more beautiful in person. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteCosmic Shimmer is a brand that makes adhesives and a variety of mixed media finsishes. The product you've used here is Opal Polish. Opal Polish names include two colors: the first describes how the polish looks on dark paper and the second how it appears on lighter paper. In either case, the color will shift depending on the angle of the light source.
ReplyDeleteThe price quoted in the link you provided is considerably higher than the places I've bought it.
Super pretty Maxine. Your butterfly is stunning.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, Maxine very pretty and love how you’ve used the inset card base too. Great brushes indeed!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a blessing, and may God bless you too.
