Stripes and Scripture

Welcome

It's once again the start of a new challenge over at Word Art Wednesday, and our lovely sponsor is
My Scrap Cabin Shop , who are offering a bundle of seam binding ribbon of your choice.

My card today started when I decided to use up some of my (large) pile of trimmings...
they were glued to a sheet of A4 light weight card, then I cut into it as I need to.

I trimmed out the size I wanted, and then embossed it with an (unmarked) folder with a pattern of squares on it, with the thought of keeping to a geometric theme.

The scripture, designed by Karen Watson, and available free on the WAW website
was cut using a Hero Art Infinity hexagon die.  I cut a two layer black frame using the same dies

To finish the card I layered the background over a black panel, and added some black bakers twine before adding it all to a white base.

  6. A lovely scripture on a lovely background. I do like how you made this background Maxine. Of course, you always just put the perfect finishing touch to your cards - the baker's twine and the strip inside the card are just perfect.

  7. Your card is gorgeous. Thanks for linking up at Crafting Happiness Challenges. If you link up more than once, keep in mind that I only comment on one of your projects (since it's just me with no design team), but I see them all and appreciate you sharing! Have a blessed day,

  12. Maxine: Terrific card and verse! I like how you kept the Scripture focal as black and white to contrast with all the colors from the scrap strips. Brilliant!

  22. That background is constructed so neat and tidy. It is similar to a patchwork quilt and therefore is a lovely comforting card.
The quote from the Psalm looks lovely and fits so well in that hexagon.

  26. Wow! This is so fun. I love the background! So much work to add all those strips and end up with such a pleasing color combination! The sentiment is one we should remember as we go about our business! There is just too much quarreling among believers!
