Summer by the Sea

Welcome,

No, it's not quite summer here, but the theme this month for the small N.Z.  swap group I am in
was to create a Pinwheel Tower card with an optional summer theme.

As you can see I went with a beachy theme.
As this is a photo heavy post, I will keep the words to a minimum

All the stamps on the larger sides were from a magazine freebie set,
All were stamped in snippets of card, and coloured with Polychromo Pencils

The papers were from an unmarked pack - possibly from the local 'Warehouse' store

The sun ray image was  cut free-hand, from yellow vellum

The shells and seahorse were digi images by Pattie G at Pattie's Creations.
The shell border I won, the seahorse was a freebie.

This final (small) panel used stamped images

The 'sand' was kraft card sprayed with Tim Holtz Mica sprays - a bronze and a gold

Thank  you for visiting, and making it this far - I hope you enjoyed this fun card.

  1. Love this Maxine, the sea and beach theme works for me as we had so little summer this year and because of COVID not see the sea for so very long.

  14. It is a fantastic card. I am lucky enough to have been the recipient of this lovely card in our swap group. I love the beachy theme to the card and hope that the weather and Alert Levels will soon be co-operative that we can see the real thing. I had wondered how you got the shimmer on the kraft card - it is very effective.
With my DT hat on now, Thank you for entering the Anything Goes Challenge at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.

  15. Wow! This card is amazing and so beautiful Maxine! I've never made this kind of card before and wouldn't even know how to even start, but think it is so cool. I love that you went with the summer beach theme, that sand just sparkles and I love it. The shells, lighthouse, sea critters are so fun and colored so pretty. Love the papers you used as well. I wish we were going back into summer. lol But can't complain as our fall has been warm. Still not looking forward to winter, but hopefully it will be short. Hugs, Brenda

  16. Hi Maxine, a fabulous card, I've been seeing these around in blogland lately thank you for the link to the instructions. The summer theme looks great and goes well with your Nana Napped story too. Lockdowns are lifting here, more Sydney siders coming into our area whilst some of us are waiting for access to vaccines. Have a wonderful week... Megan

  26. What a stunning card, every element on that card is so thought out! It's like creating 4 cards in one, so much to plan! But am amazed at how easy it was to make it. Looked like a puzzle to me earlier. Though I doubt I'll make it, but definitely inspired! Thank you so much Maxine for teaching me something cool ❤
