Steampunk and Fishy

Welcome

I recently bought a new stamp set from the local shop that had been imported, and unbranded.
They have a Steampunk look to them, and I love them, and I have several men in the extended family who love to fish!

This card started with a 'mop up' piece, using Catherine Pooler Aquatini ink, then sprayed with a silver mica spray to further mimic water

I stamped and silver embossed the image, and then painted it with mica based paints.
I wanted to frame the image, and ended up cutting two hexagons using Hero Art Infinity dies from silver mirror card, and offset them around the fish.

The sentiment was sliver embossed on vellum which I cut to a double banner shape, and mounted over a thin scrap strip of the same mirror card.
I also added a rectangle of card under opposite corners of the main panel, and used a silver pen to freehand 'stitch' around the balance of the panel.

I used a Riley's Funny Bone Stamp in the centre.

  3. Great masculine card Maxine and I love the Fish. That smooshed background is perfect as the water for the steampunk fish. Thank you for entering the challenge at The Paper Funday. We hope you'll play again soon.

  12. What a cool card Maxine! I love your background as it really does look like water, love the shimmer from the mica spray. Your fish is so cool looking, yes a little steampunk looking fish! The hexagons make a great frame for this fish. I also love how you used the mirror card on two of the corners of your card with the faux stitching. The banner sentiment looks great, this whole masculine card is fabulous! Hugs, Brenda

  13. Hi Maxine. I am not really a fan of steampunk, but this fish is rather cute in his little top hat and I love the watery background. Kate x

  14. A great card for the men. I love that fish with his top hat and the circle around him is fab!
I was just going to just say I like the sentiment on the inside and then I saw the name of the manufacturer and that made me smile enough to want to go and look them up. Never heard of them before, fabulous words and fabulous name of the company.
