Welcome
I have not been very creative of late, with one thing and another, so when I had to make a card for a child, I was at a bit of a loss, until I noticed a napkin that had been wrapped around a gift I had been given a wee while ago...
I tried to match some card with the pink, but didn't have anything appropriate, so used the yellow instead, which resulted in a very cheerful card.
The napkin was glued onto white card which I had cut to size, before mounting on the yellow
I added to the image with a background stamp, randomly stamped with Versamark ink and embossed with WOW Gold Glitter EP. and then layered Glossy Accents over the letters
The inside was finished with some washi tape, and all was done and ready to send.

This is a fun and festive card, and great way to use something that would otherwise be thrown away. Often, when I don't have colored card to match, I make my own with inks just run along the edge of a piece of card. Thanks for playing along at The Paper Funday Challenge.

I love this cheery birthday card Maxine! A napkin to the rescue! So many amazing napkins to use on cards now. Glad you had this one gifted to you. It's so fun and festive and makes a fabulous card! Thank you for your comment on my blog. Yes, very untraditional "wedding" album. The bride wore a white short shirt from Scotland-very pretty and a mustard yellow skirt and the groom wore a hunter green suit. They did not get married in a church either. It was at some rustic venue and her decorations were simple and fall like. Thus why the album I made. Weirdest wedding I've ever been to. lol Hope you are doing well Maxine! Hugs, Brenda

So cute.
ReplyDeleteCool... how fun to find a napkin and create a card. Always wanted to try this technique, I'll have to look in my cupboard to see what holiday napkins I have floating around. thanks for sharing with us at Double Trouble and Colorful Options.
ReplyDeleteClever use of the napkin. The glitter makes the letters look like the are rounded out at first glance. That is a bonus Very cheerful and bright. The child will love it.
ReplyDeleteLove, Hugs and Blessings
You are amazing at creating with "stuff" so many of us don't even think about! This is such a cute card for a child or an adult. The Yellow card base is a good choice and the added versa mark around the card just makes it so festive! I really like it, Smiles, Kathy
