Welcome
I made an impulse buy this past week - thanks to a couple of cards by Jeanette.
I love the (Gina K) feather stamp and die set she used, so wanted to buy it - probably fortunately for my budget, only the die was available locally (the stamps are on back order).
When I was looking for some black cardstock snippets to cut the feathers, I found a piece folded into a card base, and my colour scheme was determined!
When I first cut the dies, I thought I would doodle in the centres, but did not trust myself, so I chose instead to paint them in metallic gold.
I stamped the sentiment and gold embossed it on another snippet, edged the black panel with another snippet of gold painted white card, but it still got 'lost' on the black background, so I used a gold pen to outline two edges.
Three gold sequins finished the front panel
Some gold washi tape finished the white panel inside.

(love the drama of black, white and one colour - this time it's gold)
Beautiful … lovely and elegant. But I also love idea of the doodles in the feathers too so would love to see you do that too!

Thanks for entering this lovely glitzy card as homework to the Snippets Playground. Your new dies are fab. Definitely a good idea to doodle in the open spaces x
ReplyDeleteHi Maxine.. it is a beautiful die I must check out stamps too but do not need to buy either.
ReplyDeleteRe doodling. Just a thought. Cut a piece the size and rough shape of outline, doodle in that, then stick down die cut.
I think it would look great doodled. That why stops any waste of die cut. Hope and pray you're staying dry despite the deluge. 😁 and we could use some here. Had to water all my garden tonight.
Thanks for sharing, and may God bless you and keep you and all whom you love safe and well.
Prayer hugs, Shaz in Oz. X

ReplyDeleteI can see why you fell in love with those feathers. They have made for a stunning card and I like the metallic you painted in the centre of the die cuts. Perhaps you can doodle some other time when you are not too busy and have one ready for someone else in the future.
