Brrrrm - or Should That Be Roar?

Welcome

My brother recently had a birthday, and I had to make his card in a hurry as I had got behind... seems to be the story of my life of late.

An old magazine set of freebies entitled For The Boys came to the rescue yet again - my brother has ridden motorbikes for approximstely 58 years, and has just recently had to give up due to health reasons, so this was a very appropriate image to use, and the card itself came together quite quickly.

I used some silver paper for the background, embossing it with an old Cuttlebug folder.  The images were silver embossed on a snippet of black card and fussy cut, I also ran a silver pen around the words.

To ground the motorbike I added some folded red organza ribbon and layered silver ribbon over it.
The motorbike image was mounted on foam dots, with the wheels sitting just above the silver ribbon.

The inside of the card was finished with some silver washi, which does not photograph well.
My brother appreciated the card!

  1. I think the question in the post title depends who's riding the bike! It's a perfect masculine card with the steel grey and silver colour.

  3. Oh WOW! Maxine, this is absolutely perfect! The silver paper and embossing folder you used are perfect for the image - and even the washi tape coordinates too. LOVE your card and know your brother will love it too. It can remind him of all those rides when he was younger.

  11. How fun that your brother road motorcycles for 58 years Maxine! Although you couldn't pay me to get on one, had enough of that when I was a little tot. LOL Love your card for your brother, it is perfect for him. The silver, black and pop of red is so eye catching. A nice masculine card for sure. Even your washi gives the illusion that it is a bike tire track! Love it! Hugs, Brenda
