Welcome

This card is for the mid-month DT reminder for the
I started by cutting the oval into the embossed top layer, then stamping the trees using masking and second generation stamping to give some dimension, stamping approximately where the oval would sit.
I added the brown to the tree trunks by hand after stamping, thought it looked a bit stark, so then stamped some grasses at the base in versamark ink, sponged on some white ink on the top and drew some birds in with a fine liner pen - about the extent of my drawing talent...
The sentiment was gold embossed onto some kraft card that matches the base, and hand trimmed into a fishtail banner before being mounted with foam dots
The inside was finished with some sage green Washi tape.

Your "drawing" the trunks into the trees and adding the birds added so much. It's a very quiet and calm card and the green washi tape inside also adds so much to the overall flow. I really like your choice of embossing folder. ON another note, Your saying at the right is the truth for sure! Smiles, Kathy
ReplyDeleteLovely trees and embossing texture. Thank you so much for joining the challenge at Allsorts.

ReplyDeleteAnother lovely card Maxine, so peaceful. A great masculine card or nature lover card. I love this scene! I have no talent when it comes to drawing either. LOL Maxine, do you remember Mac Mabel? Did you know her?? I haven't seen her around blogland in a long time and some of us bloggers were wondering where she went. I was hoping you would know. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful plus! I love the embossing and just the right amount of coloring too. SO very pretty Maxine!

A lovely card. This would be a nice idea for a Christmas card with a bit of snow on the trees.
ReplyDeleteI do like ovals - somehow they add class to a card and this one, with the embossing looks lovely.
Blessings, Neet xx
