Welcome
I love the way this card came together, as I was more than somewhat challenged with the 'mood board' that is the inspiration for the new October challenge at We Love Stamping.
In the end, I simply used the basic colours of purple and orange
The sentiment, from Divinity Designs, was gold embossed
The Crocus stamp is a Uniko one, I also gold embossed it, and painted it with watercolours.
What the camera has picked up as blue is actually a soft purple.
I masked the image and sprayed the background with a Mr Huey colour mist - Sorbet. Again the camera has not shown the true colour, which is more orange than the yellow as it shows.
The base I adhered the focal panel to is also a soft purple.
A solid gold strip of Washi on the inside, to match the two snippets of gold under the corners of the main panel
The image was repeated on the envelope, stamped using markers on the image.
The prize this month has a wonderful collection of elements,
Do come and join in the fun, as there is always an Anything Goes option to the challenge.

(free, orange, embossing)
Isn't it annoying sometimes when cameras don't pick up the real colours? I love crocus :)

The colouring on this one is stunning! And great way to handle the colours of the moodboard like this! Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteSorry the mood board was a challenge Maxine but you need not have worried as you've captured the colours so subtly proving a different way to use it, that's what DT inspiration is all about.

Fabulous CAS Maxine, love that crocus and your design with the gold corners and the sprayed background. Camera often makes some strange jokes, but also this palette looks so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely, Maxine. The soft water colored crocus is lovely with the splattered bg. Thank you for sharing with us at Word Art Wednesday this week!
ReplyDeleteI haven't used gold embossing for ages and this reminds me of how very effective it is, especially on a lovely CAs design. A beautiful card.

What a lovely simple card, my favourite type. I am loving the sprayed background too. I always have such trouble with sprays - I haven't learnt how to tame them yet! xx
