Up, Up, and Away

Welcome

I am sorry I have not been around much, but life seems to be moving faster than me - once again.
With unpacking, keeping the garden up, and misplacing my memory stick with photos on, I have not blogged much - I have also sent a couple of cards without photographing them - oops.
I have been doing some creating...

And here's another masculine birthday card - it's that time of year!!

It's also time for the mid-month reminder for We Love Stamping

This time I used the Uniko stamp set Up Up and Away which I received last year. This is it's first outing

I started with a background from my overflowing box - I discovered, when I packed up my craft room, and put all my backgrounds into one box, I HAVE A LOT...
I have no idea how this was made, or what I used .  It was a wee bit small for the standard card size, being a snippet, so I split it and added the brown textural ribbon (first use, it was a gift) across the centre of the card.

I stamped and embossed in copper ep, the three different balloons in the set on various coloured card snippets, and then copper embossed the one basket design on a snippet of pale fawn card, fussy cut them, and adhered them under the balloon base.
I mounted the two larger balloons directly to the base, but used foam dots for the small dark green one in the foreground.
The sentiment was embossed with the same copper ep

  3. My life seems to be moving faster than me too, Maxine. Too much to do every day.
Great idea using the piece of ribbon to fill the gap of the split background. I have to put all my backgrounds in a box too, it will be a better organization to find (and use!) them. Thanks for remembering this to me.
Love the air balloons, and such great fussy cutting.

  7. Hi Maxine, this is an awesome masculine card. This set definitely needed to put in the game! What a clever solution using the mesh so you could a achieve such a cohesive look after you cut the background piece. It all comes together quite nicely. And good for you using up the backgrounds you have already made. Thanks for being so encouraging my friend! It made me smile about working with your garden. It's so cold here in SC. It will be the last of March before we can (just maybe) be able to start preparing our spaces for gardening. No snow yet, but the ground surface is frozen each morning. Smiles, Kathy

We have reached that stage in our oives where everything slows down a bit and so we must realise we cannot do things at the same speed as we used to - well that is me anyway.
