Fractured!!

Welcome...

My title refers to the technique I have used - it's called a fractured card!
This was the challenge for my small swap group that I belong to here in NZ.

I started with and inky panel that was on my desk, and I embossed it.
I then went hunting for a specific floral image that I wanted to use, but it eluded me - I tried another small floral, but that was a big fail, as I tried to use watercolour stamping...

I eventually found this face image, stamped it in Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink, (after more fails at the watercolour stamping) and added some red to the lips, and blue to her eyes, and then mounted her onto cream card.

The sentiment was also stamped with the same ink on cream cardstock layered over some of the same
Cranberry coloured card that I used for the 'fracture' lines and base.
A few gold faceted gems and I called the front of the card done.

The inner lining was cream, and I added a strip of the background card to the edge of it

I decorated the edge of the envelope with off  the edge, repeated  stamping of the image

The card and envelope together.

Thank you for visiting, and hanging in this long - it's taken me hours to do this post, as part way through my trusty mouse once more dropped off the arm of the chair, and this time the 'right click' function died... and i had to learn how to use my mouse pad - thanks to my daughters expertise,  I can now use it, albeit slowly!

  1. These techie issues are sent to try us Maxine, it's taken me or should I say the voice programme weeks to understand my voice, till then a few faux pars!

It's an interesting design and always loved that Stampers Anonymous face (or Stamp Addicts, they have one almost identical).

Thanks so much for sharing with us at Allsorts, stamping Sensations and We Love Stamping challenges.

  11. I liked the 'fractures cards', and this is a good one. I have just made a set of twelve Christmas cards using this technique but I am keeping them to use for my challenge that goes out on 25th each month.
(I am hopeless with a mouse pad, so I would have to invest in a new mouse if I did that!)

  15. Sorry about your lack of success with the watercolour stamping - so frustrating. Funny how some new techniques we try work brilliantly the first time then fail, and other times it is the other way round. Whatever went wrong it doesn't matter because your finished card is great. Love the face xx

  16. Love your fractured card. You had me with the title - I thought you had fallen and suffered a fracture! My heart gave a little flip.
So glad it was the style of card. I am going to do one of these and had one sent to me as a birthday card. Yours has made me realise that I could probably do this technique (when I look up how to do it) whilst sat in my chair and with a tray on my knee, supplies gathered around me. Watch my page!
In the meantime, hope you are better than you were and settled in nicely.
    Blessings, Neet xx
