Welcome
My apologies for not being present in 'blogland' for the better part of a week - life has been moving faster than I have, and I kept running out of time...
This was made earlier in the year for an older family member - I was invited to the luncheon to celebrate, but the folk I was going to travel with were unable to go due to a viral infection one of them contracted 48 hours before - it was not covid, but it was a mighty inconvenience!
If you are thinking you have seen this before, I did another similar card in red and white.
This time I stamped, coloured and diecut the roses to form the circle
The centre piece was a silver die cut doily layered over an orange die cut. The centre of the silver diecut was removed, and a lemon layer, the same as the base inserted before the layered, diecut digits were added, all slightly offset to have the colour peeping through.
The final detailing before I assembled it all was the lace and silver ribbon placed diagonally across the front.
The sentiment was silver embossed on a hand cut fishtail banner.. the main panel was layered over silver before being mounted on the white base
The inside was finished with lace and silver ribbon, as was the envelope.
As I was not able to attend the function, I popped my gift and the card into a courier post beg to send off to the recipient.

You have come up trumps again for me. Your delightful card has given me an idea for a Golden Wedding card I have to make soon. I am sure your friend enjoyed receiving such a beauty. What a shame about your friends coming down with something just before the party.
ReplyDeleteHope you are well
Blessings, Neet xx
That wreath of roses is so sweet as well the whole card. I'm sure it was very appreciated! Big congrats to that lady of your family, Happy Birthday to her!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining us at We Love Stamping, is always a pleasure seeing you there!

ReplyDeleteI definitely know the feeling about running out of time. Your card is just beautiful. So special for that special birthday too. Don't we all wish we will reach it? Thanks for joining us in the gallery this month. It does seem odd not to have your card in with the DT team, but I am glad you have still been able to join us xx
ReplyDeleteThats a shame you were unable to attend the birthday Maxine but I am sure the recipient was just delighted with that card.
ReplyDeleteI have found - from looking for my older friends - that there are very few nice 90 year old birthday cards available. Yours are just so special. xx
so very pretty, thanks for joining us at Crafty Gals challenges
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, Maxine. Gorgeous colours and metallic details give a sumptuous feel, and the lace inside is a lovely touch too x
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame you had to miss the occasion, but I am sure this pretty card was well-received. I like the way you use the roses to make the circle. Kate x
ReplyDeleteIt is always said that plans wich you like and are looking forward to ain't happening...
ReplyDeleteAnd that with the time'I am (like every year) again totally confused and not feeling 'in time' since Summertime has started here again... My opinion: ditch Summertime! Since they let it start the same day in whole Europe it is too soon here; we have to put the lights on again in the morning... And it a;ways runs too long aswel...
But back to the card; I love that rose stamp and the elegant way you combined it here.
Hugs, Gerrina
Maxine, this is so pretty - the metallic details and the lace are two nice touches.
ReplyDeleteLove the circle of roses , Maxine , and the circle die cut doily. It is a delightful card .

Smart idea off-setting the doily with the orange. It's a fabulous effect, and your flowers are colored beautifully! We love seeing your work in our gallery at Sisterhood of Crafters, please play with us again! Hugs!
