Bookmarks with a difference.

Welcome

I have recently been stitching bookmarks on waste strips of canvas, as well as a wee (group) project on plastic canvas

The cross was a church women's group project - I stitched the purple in long legged cross stitch, and the double running stitch between the rows in white, with a sliver thread added.

The tassel shows the (errant) silver thread well .. but the silver throughout catches the light beautifully

The next two are canvas scraps and are stitched in pearle 8 thread - I design them as I go, which can end up with some interesting situations when I have not counted correctly 😀

The green variegated thread does not have white in it, despite what the camera says.
I love playing with colour, and enjoyed reversing the colours in the solid colour bands, and seeing the different effects of the same stitch.

This time the light catches the subtle differences in the stitch directions in the gold

The close up shows the detail in the stitching in the edges, repeating the blue and orange from the centre panel

I have another stitch project, but the photos are tucked away as it is part of a group project for a competition, and I cannot do a full reveal until the full project is complete and the competition is over.

  5. All 3 of these are just wonderful. I am so impressed. I used to love to stitch, but for some reason I haven't done any for a while. I love to see what others have done though. So thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing your other project xx

  10. Oh Wow! I had no idea you did such things as this stitching etc. What beautiful bookmarks, especially the cross one but then I love the others equally so maybe I should not have a favourite. Too hard to choose.
    Blessings, Neet xx
