Welcome
I recently made a card for a family member who is older than me, and as they have a sense of humour, I had fun making this card!!
It is very simple and came together quite quickly.
I was 'playing' with some iridescent medium and a new stencil recently, (Creative Expressions Basketweave) masking to give just a strip of texture.
The sentiment, stamped in memento London Fog ink is from a Newton's Nook Birthday Essentials set.
You can see the shimmer on the stencilling just above the sentiment.
The birthday greeting was stamped inside (same ink, same stamp set) and some car themed washi tape added - the same tape was added to the envelope.
And yes, the recipient did enjoy his card!

ReplyDeleteI love this, Maxine. Thanks for sharing it with us at Word Art Wednesday - it's always a much-appreciated treat to have you play a long. The card reminds me of my childhood. My Uncle Danny had an old Ford Model-T that he fully restored. He would take me for long rides (in Wisconsin - thick trees, deer, etc.) and I distinctly remember that horn. (ooo-gah oo-gah). And the card made a specific noise as we drove that I can still hear in my mind. Thus, I named this card the "Chug-a-Boom". I'd ask for a ride in the Chug-a-Boom every time I went to their house. These are very special memories. Thanks for this wonderful walk down memory lane. I praise God for my Uncle Danny and I praise God for you, Maxine.
ReplyDeleteHaha, becoming classic is so much better than becoming older!! :) xx
