Welcome
It's been a long sabbatical, but I am finally back - the intentions have been there - I just haven't made it to the computer.
There has been gardening, as it is summer here, and lacemaking and initially, just relaxing, or as the grandies would say, chillaxing...
My posts are going to be shorter, with fewer challenges entered - well that is the theory
The double birthday is for this card, made for a family member, and Uniko's 13th birthday bash!
I used the Uniko Bauhaus Blocks set, stamped with black ink and embossed.
The minimal colouring was done with watercolour paints
The black stripe is part of a sparkly adhesive
I ruled stripes of differing widths on the inside, inspired by the stripes on the middle block.
I did the same on the envelope.

Hi Maxine, a stunning card for a masculine birthday, love the black and yellow, I think from art class many years ago there was an artist who painted like this.... I am often astounded by the number of challenges that some people are able to find and enter all at once, I think only once have I managed to enter one card in 10 challenges, I am quite okay with only entering a handful... I hope you have tamed your garden; wind has knocked some of ours around... Have a wonderful week, it is nice to see you back... Megan
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see you 'out and about' again Maxine and also with a bright and fresh card.

Such a cool card Maxine! I love the modern design. Your needlework sounds so interesting too!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you posting again Maxine. My intention is to post more birthday cards etc, and not just Christmas ones, but like you , I am limiting the challenges as I just don't have the time or inclination to keep checking them all.
ReplyDeleteThis card is wonderful for a young man, (or an older one), and they can be so difficult to make them for. Kate x
Just stopping by to say Hi. I have been missing in action for awhile myself. I see you are still creating awesomeness. Huggs

Welcome back! It sounds like you’ve had a wonderfully productive and relaxing time—gardening, lacemaking, and taking it easy are always great ways to recharge. Your card is lovely, and I love the clean, modern feel of the Uniko Bauhaus Blocks set paired with that sparkly adhesive stripe! The inside and envelope stripes are a great touch, adding a cohesive look. It’s great to see you back, and I’m sure your shorter posts will still be just as creative and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Maxine! We missed you!!! The geometric look of this card is such fun!
ReplyDeleteIt is sure lovely to “come back” and have friends welcome, thank you for doing this for me too! I have never seen those blocks before, how cool!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Maxine. I am so glad to see you back,my friend. I really missed you.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you back in blogland. Especially with such a stunning card. I've never heard of Uniko but I will look them up now. Saying that I like the way you have put in some lines on the inside and envelope to marry with the stamps.
